Across India, rapid urbanization, deforestation and modern construction have drastically reduced the natural nesting spaces available for birds. Species such as sparrows and many small birds struggle to find safe places to build their nests and raise their young.Every year, thousands of birds lose their breeding habitats due to disappearing trees, sealed buildings and shrinking green spaces. Without safe nesting locations, bird populations continue to decline.
MERI PAHAL NGO's Sponsor A Bird Home campaign provides eco-friendly bird nests that are installed in schools, parks, residential colonies, villages and community spaces. These artificial bird homes offer birds a safe shelter for nesting, breeding and protecting their chicks.
